One month passed extremely quick, and bogged down with assignments, the month passed by relatively fast. If you've yet to know that I am an anime fan, well, now you know.
Recently, I've got around to watching an anime about Football, or Soccer (some may argue, but for standardization in this blog post, I'll be using football) - it's name being Blue Lock.
Now, you may be thinking - syk, how does a bunch of animated drawings about a football anime and explaining the secrets of success and motivation be connected?
While watching Blue Lock, its episodes explored several concepts that was unlike most animes I've watched thus far:
In Fairy Tail - an anime literally spanning 9 seasons highlighting the importance of friendships and bonds, focused on developing even the antagonists to become friends/trusted partners with the protagonists.
But, in Blue Lock, things go a bit different -
Winners take all, and Losers only have the the bitter taste of defeat, regret, disappointment.
The story follows a passionate football player, Isagi - in the heat of THE decisive prefectural football match, passing the ball to this teammates to make that final shot. But, his teammate misses the shot, and the opposing team quickly recovers and scores yet another goal on Isagi's team.
The match ends there - with Isagi's team losing their chance to represent their prefecture in the nationals, and going home as losers of the match.
With the solemn setting of the first episode, I moved onto the following episodes of the anime, following the protagonist on what he experiences after the lost, which I found extremely interesting. The protagonist is invited to then join a training program, named Blue Lock, where 300 talented football players compete against each other like Squid Game, with the goal of having a sole winner crowned as the "top striker". During the process of the eliminations, the protagonist is forced to think of many things - how to pick himself up and score goals. What I found most fascinating was the key elements that brought about his extremely fast rate of improvement that was explained in the show, which I felt that could be even extrapolated to situations out of the anime is shared below: 1) Success Formula A (Weapon) x B (Situation) = C (Outcome) The above is the simple, yet complex formula of Success. Weapon A, also known as "Strengths". In every job interview or leadership position interview, I find myself unable to run away from this question. Now I know why companies or organizations ask this. You too. Situation B, also known as "Circumstance". At any time, to be successful, it is only a matter in which you can position yourself in a situation where you can use your Weapon A, your best card, to reach the most desired outcome. As for the last letter in the formula, Outcome C, also known as the "Results". As someone who studied some assembly code, its universal to know of the common code for flags like ZF, CF, where the numbers 1 = Success (Flag set) 0 = Failed (Flag not set) So, carrying that thinking and merging with the the Success Formula above, there are only two outcomes that can occur : A x B = 1 (Success) A x B = 0 (Fail) Ideally, anyone would want to only experience the first formula only and succeed in life. But life is not as smooth as we can dream of. Good thing for me, I like a good challenge - with some python, you can think of the above situations in this way :
So this is the Success formula, explained and summarized in 3 steps.
Knowing your strengths
Positioning and Recreating Situations where you can showcase your strengths.
